If you have long hair and you are planning to skip a wash a night before, sleep with your hair in a loose braid. Another tip is to use dry shampoo which is essentially a spray-on powder that absorbs excess oil. But use it no more than a couple times a week. It’s important to not let sebum build up on your scalp and clog the pores on your head which can lead to issues like hair loss.
In addition, Jeff Chastain, a hairstylist in New York City, recommends that women get their shampooing once or twice a week. Less washing means stronger and longer hair. Women with curls dont need to wash their hair as often as others. Women with straight hair tends to get greasier more quickly because the oils can travel more quickly down the hair. If you can stand it, try wetting your hair only every other day and use dry shampoo.
