Every fruit comes with its own set of vitamins and minerals to boost your health, but our current favorite king of the crop is the yellow-skinned tropical fruit, bananas! (Yep, it was literally in the title all along.)
In Indonesia, there are a plethora of bananas to choose from, and they are easy to get. Some of you might even have a banana tree growing in your own backyard. It’s easy to peel, it’s easy to eat and it is neither too sweet, sour, nor pungent. Its rich nutrient profile includes healthy superstars such as essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6. They have high-fiber content, support digestion, and help ward off anemia.
Now while it seems like the banana is just your average humble fruit, it delivers a LOT that are advantageous to your health and beauty.
When eaten, it makes an amazing anti-oxidant and anti-aging treat for your overall skin health. Bananas can help keep your hair shiny, moisturized, and well-hydrated, due to its folic acid, potassium and natural oils.
Mushed up and used as a mask, that’s when bananas really shine through. A banana mask can nourish, cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate and moisturize dry skin, making it soft and supple. Find out what to mix into the mask to get optimum results! The moisture, potassium, and vitamins E and C that bananas contain promote clear glowing skin. Bananas can also help repair your rough cracked heels, which are often overlooked.
After you’ve used up the inner fruity goodness, don’t throw away the peel just yet! Banana peels can be used to treat acne and pimples by reducing inflammation and destroying bacteria. Placed on your peepers, the peels can reduce puffy red eyes and remove under-eye circles. It can also be used to relieve itchy skin, so no more scratching and getting those red marks!
