We’ve heard the name Greta Thunberg quite a lot these days, but who is she, to be exact?
Greta Thunberg is a 16-year old climate and environmental activist from Sweden. With the climate crisis that has been going on for quite a while now, everyone is trying to help fight the drastic climate change with their own power. Greta is one of them.
She’s known for her powerful speeches to gain people’s awareness to unite and fight the climate crisis. Last year, she took her time off school to demonstrate outside the Swedish parliament. Her action then brings her to organize a movement called Fridays for Future for school students to fight against climate strike, this September. In just one year, her personal strike became a global strike, with 250,000 people assembling in New York City, and a total of around two millions of people across the globe.

Recently, one of her speeches at the United Nations General Assembly got highlighted because she told how unfair it is for her to stand there giving a speech, while she’s supposed to be in school. She told the audience that we’re in the beginning of a mass extinction.
